Are you leaving soon, but don’t know what to do in Dubai?
We are often asked this question on our travel blog, so to answer it in detail, we have prepared a full article on the subject.
You will discover all the activities not to be missed if you come to visit Dubai.
Dubai is THE luxury destination to visit that really makes you dream. This city emerged from the sand in just a few years, and today it is one of the largest cities in the United Arab Emirates.
In this article, you will find a list of paid activities, but also free activities, and you will see that contrary to popular belief, travelling to Dubai is not necessarily overpriced, far from it!
Without further ado, here are our tips for visiting Dubai easily?
What can you do and visit in Dubai?
1 – Climb the tallest tower in the world
Going to Dubai and not going to see the tallest tower in the world? It is unthinkable! ? The Burj Khalifa , 828 m high, will offer you an incredible view of the golden city. It is really an activity not to be missed in my opinion. With a ticket, you can climb the 124 th and 125 th floors of the skyscraper, and enjoy panoramic views of the absolutely stunning Dubai.
As of this writing, this tower is still the tallest on the planet, but it may well be overtaken soon … The good news is that it will probably be another Dubai tower that takes over. of this record. Indeed, the Dubai Creek Tower, which was to open in 2021, but whose construction has taken a little delay, should peak at more than a kilometer in height!
Now comes the fateful question: When to visit the Burj Khalifa? Everyone has their best time, but for our part, we strongly recommend that you go there a little before sunset, so you will enjoy the daytime view, you can admire a memorable sunset, and then you will enjoy the night view.
Besides, isn’t this sight incredible? If you really don’t know what to do in Dubai, I recommend this activity as a priority.
It is a paid activity, but it is really a UNIQUE activity and you will not have the opportunity to do it many times in your life? Yes, there is only one tallest tower in the world!
The classic tour costs around 35 $ per person and lasts approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. If you have the budget, you can even climb even higher than the 124th and 125th floors if you wish. There is a VIP ticket to go up to the 148th floor (of course with this VIP ticket you can also go to the 124th and 125th floors). You will have access to a very quiet platform where there are very few people (maximum 50 people) and you will have a snack (coffee, tea, cakes).
2 – A 4 × 4 safari in the desert
The city of Dubai emerges from the desert. Leaving the city, you will only have to drive a few kilometers, and there will be nothing but sand around you.
Why not take the opportunity to go on a half-day safari, to visit Dubai while enjoying a 4 × 4 ride in the dunes?
Guaranteed sensations! And if you especially want to discover the desert and you are not necessarily looking for adrenaline, no worries, the driver of course adapts his driving according to the passengers and their preferences.
During the desert safari, you can even learn about sand boarding and surfing the sand dunes. A real treat!
If you feel like it, you can also take a little camel excursion. In the evening, you will experience a sunset in the desert, and in a typical Bedouin camp, you will be served a barbecue around a whirling dervish and belly dancing show. You can also smoke shisha and why not get a henna tattoo.
Departure is possible every day from 3:00 p.m., and then return to the hotel will be around 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
3 – Beach + sunset on the Burj-Al-Arab
If you are visiting Dubai, be sure to visit the public beach to admire the sunset over the Burj Al Arab.
This is the best place to have a beautiful view of the only 7 stars in the world! The public beach is not a paradise beach, but the sunset is still magnificent. The little extra? The moment is magic and completely free.
It is a free activity and easily accessible by public transport. You can also enjoy it during the day without a problem, the beach of Umm Suqeim Beach is safe and quiet.
All in all the day you will have families. You can of course bathe in a swimsuit, it is authorized and there are cabins and toilets to change on site.
Go there in the late afternoon and you will enjoy both Umm Suqeim Beach and the sunset over the Burj-Al-Arab.
4 – Discover the Dubai Mall
Fans of shopping or just want to see what one of Dubai’s gigantic malls looks like? This mall is the largest mall in the world and frankly, there are a lot of shops there. Go see the Dubai Aquarium too, it is worth the detour with its many species and its tunnel that will plunge you into the heart of the ocean. Why not go do some shopping while visiting Dubai? And if you don’t know what to do in Dubai, the aquarium is a really cool experience, especially if you have kids.
The Dubai Mall activity is free, and only the visit to the aquarium is chargeable. The underwater tunnel is really nice, and it will appeal to both adults and children. A very nice experience with the emblematic place of Dubai. For us, it is absolutely necessary to visit it and discover the largest transparent wall in the world during your stay in Dubai. It is still a super enjoyable activity to do if you come to visit Dubai. Consider going up to Atmosphere, located in Dubai’s tallest skyscraper, the Burj Khalifa for some fine dining in the clouds. Or pop into Level 43 Sky Lounge for a magical 360-degree view of Dubai’s skyline while sipping on the perfect refreshment. If you want to enjoy Dubai’s famous food in the comfort of your room, you can easily order food from the best fine dining restaurants in Dubai.
For the aquarium, you can book your tickets in advance directly, the price is around 25$ and you will avoid the long line once there (that’s a BIG advantage anyway).
With the visit of the aquarium, you will also discover a whole artificially created universe, with a reconstruction of dinosaur skeletons, but also the encounter with “King Croc”, a huge crocodile weighing more than 750 kg, or even a more waterfall. 24 m high directly in the Dubai Mall… Something to dream of!
Although the visit to the Dubai Mall is free, we also recommend that you discover the aquarium during your stay in Dubai.
5 – Flight over the city of Dubai by helicopter
Here is an attraction that we did not test the first time in Dubai and that our friends told us about a few months later. It must be said that this activity is not cheap, but it is still one of the most popular in Dubai.
You will have an incredible view from the sky, get ready to be amazed!
Take off from Palm Jumeirah, you will fly over the artificial islands “The World”, Palm Jumeirah, but also the most luxurious hotel in the world, the Burj Al-Arab hotel, the largest shopping centre, Dubai Marina or the Burj Khalifa. It is even more grandiose to see the tower from the sky …
Well, the activity still costs between 160 $ to 180 $ per person depending on the season, but if you have the budget, we highly recommend it!
6 – Aquaventure Waterpark – Atlantis the Palm
If you have a free day to enjoy with the children or to spend time having fun as a couple, we recommend that you go and see the Dubai Aquaventure WaterPark in Palm Jumeirah, which is part of the Atlantis hotel. There are also many luxury hotels and rental apartments in Dubai which are convenient and match your preference.
Young and old will have a great time enjoying the giant slides and other thrilling attractions. You will also have the opportunity to visit the Lost Chambers aquarium, an incredible atmosphere and settings worthy of the lost city. You can get up close to sharks and rays and relax on the large private beach.
This is an activity that I recommend if you don’t know what to do in Dubai and want to cool off on a hot day.
I loved the vertical slide from the pyramid. I must say that even for adults, this slide gives a good dose of adrenaline.
If you have always dreamed of swimming with dolphins, know that you can make your dream come true at Aquaventure Waterpark Dubai !
They sell tickets to swim directly with the dolphins in addition to enjoying the water park for the rest of the day after this unforgettable experience. You stay around 1 hour with the dolphins: 30 minutes of preparation and 30 minutes of interactions with the dolphins.
These were our top things to do in Dubai in 2022 ! We hope you will have a great holiday!
