BRIAN FERDINAND: STEPS FOR IMPROVING YOUR BUSINESS TRIP THIS FALL

Months ago, workers had to take a hiatus from business travel in light of the global COVID-19 pandemic. Fortunately, they can now hit the open road or the open skies for that next business meeting, conference, or training session, according to travel expert Brian Ferdinand in a recently published article. Workers who are returning to business travel should follow a couple of tips to enhance their journeys this fall.

CHOOSE CORPORATE HOUSING

Brian Ferdinand, the managing partner of SoBeNY and its parent company, CorpHousing Group, explains that business travelers have traditionally booked extend-stay hotels for their temporary stays. These stays may range from a few weeks to a few months. However, travelers may want to break the habit of staying in hotels and instead book luxury apartments, or corporate housing units. A luxury apartment rental is a safe and cost-effective type of accommodation designed to improve the guest’s productivity and comfort.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT FOODS

As a general rule of thumb, business travelers know that they need to eat right. However, this is hard to do at home, let alone on the road. Unfortunately, if you are like most travelers, you may end up eating more calorically unhealthy and last-minute meals than you’d like. Fortunately, with proper planning, eating healthy while on the road isn’t as difficult as it could be.

To eat healthier while on the road, consider keeping nutritious snacks on you. This will help to ensure that you have healthy snacks available when you’re dealing with travel delays and even overtime meetings, for example. Snacks can also help you if you have to regulate your blood sugar either for mood reasons or medical reasons.

Also, if you do have to eat out while traveling for business, be sure to research all of your dining options ahead of time. Then, create a plan for when and where you’ll eat once you reach your business trip destination. Knowing ahead of time where you’ll eat and what you’ll eat will save you stress and time, in addition to fending off those unwanted “hangry” episodes. On top of this, having a plan in place will enable you to make smarter food choices more frequently.

All in all, if you choose corporate housing and make smart food choices in advance, you can be confident that your next business trip will be a positive one physically, mentally, and emotionally from day 1 to day 31—and beyond.
