To troubleshoot blinking or amber power LED issues on your Netgear AC1900 router:

Note: Prior to performing the steps given below, make sure to use the power adapter that came with your Netgear WiFi router.

  1. Turn off your Netgear AC1900 router and then turn it back after some time to see whether the Power LED turns green or white or not.
  2. Press and hold the Reset button on your Netgear R7000 router to restore it back to its factory settings.
  3. If the Power LED on your Netgear router is still amber or blinking then connect your computer or laptop to the LAN port of your EX7000 (AC1900) using an Ethernet cable.
  4. Set your device (computer or laptop) Subnet Mask, IP address, and Default Gateway to static.

Once you have set up your computer’s IP address to static, open your command prompt.

For Windows:

  • Hit the Start button on your keyboard.
  • After that, in the “Search box” type “cmd” (without quotes) and hit the Enter key.

For Mac OSX:

  • Click on Go.
  • Select Utilities > Terminal.
  • Type ping 192.168.1.1.
  • Hit the Enter key.

  1. Plug your Netgear R7000 router into a working outlet near to your modem and connect them both via Ethernet cable.
  2. Use a computer or laptop and connect it with your Netgear router.
  3. Open a web browser on your connected device.
  4. Enter routerlogin.net in the browser address bar carefully without any typos.
  5. Netgear Nighthawk setup and login page display.
  6. Enter your Netgear AC1900 router’s default username and password. If you have personalized your Netgear router’s login credentials, use them instead.
  7. Select the Advanced and click on Administration option.
  8. Click on the Router Update or Firmware Update button (button label varies by Netgear router).
