Skin Toning Products – So, Exactly How Do They Work?

I can’t tell you the precise number of skin toning products that I’ve seen on the market and each one claims to make my skin firmer and by body more toned. I’ve long since thought they were for people who didn’t fancy going to gym as often as they should, but I’ve since learned that they work – but how?

Most creams and products of this nature on the market aren’t of the right viscosity to get through enough layers to actively tighten skin, but they still seem to provide the desired results. In this blog, I take a brief look at them more closely and shed some light on the subject. You certainly won’t be a toning expert by reading to the end of this article, but you will at least understand that it’s not magic that’s making your skin firmer. So let’s cut out the chit-chat and get down to the nitty gritty.

Skin Toning Products Work On Sub-dermal Tissue

Also known as body sculpting creams, some products that are created to tone the skin do so by providing a collagen boost while at the sime breaking up fatty acids. Obviously, you can’t simply reorganise the sub-dermal tissue that connects everything together under the skin, so they intensely moisturise the area at the same time as strengthening the upper dermis.

What’s more, skin toning products actively improve elasticity, resulting in more supple skin and re-energizing it with ingredients that tone and tighten the skin.

There are various different types of skin toner out there too, with some targeting the skin’s outer layers and others making the skin look smoother by plumping it up. Then there’s those that add ingredients like caffeine to create firmness by boosting circulation.

Lots of Interesting Ingredients

Do a little research into skin toning products and you’ll find many interesting and wonderful ingredients that all support the dermis in different ways. Some examples include things like the amazing antioxidant that is Green Tea, oat seed extract for tightness, dill seed to provide elastin and even brown algae that helps to maintain collagen levels. Then there’s caffeine for blood flow, shea butter for moisture and they all come in different mixtures and blends.

Skin Toning Products Work In All Kinds of Ways

In answer to the question that I mentioned in the title of the piece, skin toners work in all kinds of ways that are determined by what’s on the list of contents.

By simply checking out the ingredients on the packaging, you’ll see whether the product you’re buying will tighten your skin, make it more plump, improve blood flow, boost collagen or all of the above. So, it’s always best to check out exactly what sort you’re buying so that you know what to expect.

It’s easy to get distracted by all the advertising about the benefits that a toning product offers, so before you commit your hard-earned dollars on the next big thing, take a moment to research what’s under the hood (so to speak). Get even more familiar with toning ingredient terms and you’ll also be able to distinguish those ineffective, but expensive products from the cheaper ones that still do the job very well.

That’s it for now. I really hope my blog has made things a bit clearer!
