What is so different about this film?
The intriguing fact about this movie created by S Hussain Zaidi, is that the 70 minute gripping film has been shot entirely in the period of the lockdown. It is essentially the supporter of the new wave of feminism. This is because it stars women in its lead roles. Uma Kulkarni, is an agent in the Indian High Commission of London. She is leading the mission on the investigation of an unexplained demise.
Kulraj Randhawa, plays the role of a competent Indian High Commissioner, who is at her wits end in her pursuit of the mole in the commission. The film is a classical example of technological advancement as there are many scenes shot indoors which depict the outdoor world. The authenticity of the streets of London is very convincing. This is commendable, given the fact that there is an ongoing pandemic.
It is a classic case of Who dunn it
With many secrets being unravelled, it seems as if everyone is someone else below the surface. One of the suspects is in a homosexual relationship, which begs the question what else is he hiding? Another is having an extra marital affair, so how much can you bank on his integrity? One of the suspects spends more than he earns, if he is not a mole, what could possibly be his source of income? With so many secrets, it is impossible to trust anyone. The many faces of a single person is a theme that is beautifully explored in this movie.
However, some of them have explanations and alibis which prove their innocence, whereas others, not so much! The plot thickens, as does the curiosity, to find out who is #TheTraitorWithin? The spy thriller is a classic many layered web of “who dunn it.”
The few mishaps that make this movie – “Not so confidential”
Even though it is shot during the time of the pandemic, it is seen that all the actors are going about their daily lives as if there is no real threat out there. This might send a wrong message to the audience. Lack of masks in the movie might actually lead to deaths, if not in the reel life, then definitely in the real life!
It is seen that Uma Kulkarni is a little too innocent and naïve to play the role of an agent. Her soft nature does not add up to the responsibilities her job entails. All in all, it can be recommended as a good one time watch!
