The JEE Main 2021 second session got over on March 18. With its conclusion, two of the sessions of JEE Main have now passed by and candidates now have the April and May sessions to look forward to. Meanwhile, those who wrote the JEE Main exams are now looking forward to get their results, which are likely to be out sometime in the final week of March.

JEE Main Cut Off 2021 likely to go higher

The JEE Main 2021 results will be announced as per the finale answer key that has been released for the exams. While candidates will receive their marks as well as the percentile in the JEE Main results for the March session, the all-India rank as well as the cut-off will be declared only after the remaining two sessions take place as well. One of the most important factors that determine the finale result is the JEE Main cut-off and one cannot easily determine the same. However, post the two sessions, many have tried to understand the pattern and as per Anandabazar Patrika, experts suggest that the cut-off is likely to go higher this year.

Expected Category Wise Percentile Cut off for JEE Main 2021

According to the reactions that have been fathomed by the initial papers, it has been noted that the papers for all the shift ranged in difficulty in the easy to moderate section. In fact, even for the February session, it was the same case and the conclusion was that the papers were relatively easy. Hence, if one takes into account the trends that have been prevalent in the past year, one can expect that the JEE Main cut-off will witness a spike and will range from 90 to 100 percentile for the open category candidates. As for the candidates in the reserved category, it is likely to be between 60 to 70 percentile. Experts further have it that those candidates who manage to score a 200 are likely to fall into the 90 to 100 percentile category for this session.

The cut off for general category candidates who appeared for JEE Main in 2020 was 90.3765335 percentile and for the reserved category, it ranged from 0.0618524 percentile to 72.8887969 percentile. In 2019, candidates had a cut off in the range of 89.7548849 NTA score while it ranged between 0.11371730 to 78.2174869 for those belonging to the reserved category. Hence, it can be noticed that the percentile cut-off took a slight hike from 2019 when it moves to 2020.

In 2018, the cut-off was purely on the basis of the marks obtained and for those belonging to the open category, the cut-off was 74 and those belonging to the reserved category, the cut off marks were between 45 to 35. Meanwhile, the same in 2017, was 81 for those in general category and ranged from 1 to 49 for those belonging to reserved categories.

As of now, the cut-off for JEE Main 2021 has not been revealed and the numbers that have been mentioned in the scorecard are only the minimal marks that are needed for candidates to make it to the JEE Advanced exams. Those candidates who will be able to make it through the cut-off will then be allowed to write the Advanced exams in 2021.
