Reasons for Brother Printer connection failed error:

  1. Faulty USB cable
  2. Your Router is not working
  3. Error is Bluetooth connection
  4. Outdated/corrupted printer driver
  5. Malware is interrupting the connection
  6. Corrupted Windows files

Troubleshooting Brother Printer connection error:

Use a good USB cable

If you have connected your printer to the PC via USB cable, then check whether the cable is working or not. Sometimes the cable gets loose and causes the connection error. Eject the cable from both ends and then reconnect it. Check for the connection now. If the printer is still unable to connect, remove the Brother printer’s cable and try to connect another device. If the cable is not connecting to any device, then your USB cable is faulty. You should purchase a new high-speed USB for the Brother printer.

Check the access point (router)

Whenever you get the connection error while taking the network printouts, you should immediately check the access point. When you connect the Brother printer to the access point, you can take printouts from all the devices connected to that network. Go to the router device and check whether the WPS pin is on or not. Restart the WPS pin of your router. Now press the Wi-Fi button on the Brother printer and check for the Brother Printer admin login. The lamp next to the Wi-Fi button should start blinking. Wait until the printer connects the router, and the lamp becomes steady. Now check whether the Brother printer connection error gets resolved or not.

Check the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi

Brother printer also allows your wireless direct option for printing. This method allows users to take printouts from phone devices. Turn on the Bluetooth or Wi-Fi on both the devices. Now search for the Brother printer on the available devices list. For iDevices, you need to set up for the AirPrint for taking the printouts wirelessly.

Repair the printer driver files

For taking printouts, you need to install a print driver on your computer. The Brother printer driver is like the communication bridge which can transfer the PC print commands to your printer. You can get the error on the connection when you don’t have a printer driver or the driver gets corrupted. Go to your PC and check for the printer driver. If you don’t have a printer driver then go to the Brother website and install a driver for your printer model. Sometimes the printer driver gets corrupted due to malware infection or some other errors. Go to the Brother printer driver and edit the corrupted files. In case you are using an outdated printer driver then install the latest printer update on your device. You can also use the driver update tool for repairing or updating the driver. If you don’t know how to repair the corrupted files then uninstall the corrupted setup and install a new Brother Printer driver.

Run an antivirus scan

Viruses and other malware like spyware and Trojan Horses can also interrupt the printer connection. If your network or USB cable is working fine but you are still getting the connection error then you need to check for the malware infection. Open your device and scan the PC with an antivirus. Once the scanning process completes, restart the PC and try to connect the Brother printer.
