To take your business to the digital platform is the new norm. And for your business to survive in this competitive market, it is a necessity. Making a website for your business is not enough. People show more engagement on social media like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram than on websites. You need to promote your e-commerce website on social media platforms, without that you are never going to keep up with the average sales. Basic steps you can start promoting your business on social media are –

1. Select the people – Select the group of people that are likely going to buy your products and services. This is the very first step that every social media marketing strategist uses to promote any brand on social media. The group of people can be based on gender, age, locality, etc. Marketing real estate properties to kids won’t do any good right? So first research what your target audience is and then begin with your promotion journey.

2. Select the platform – Filtering out the buyers is important but the second factor which is going to matter is the right platform. Marketing your products on literally every social media platform is very ineffective and time-consuming. Instead, select a spot where most of your potential buyers are. For example, most teenagers use Instagram, so if your product is for teenagers, Instagram is your place.

3. Select the content – There are so many types of content that you can use – Information type, marketing type, awareness, etc. Other section includes short videos, long videos, tutorial videos, photos, banners, etc. Video content is the most engaging type of content that you can use to attract audiences. People download twitter video that they think is useful for them. So you can create valuable videos and smartly promote your brand while you make the video.

4. Select the mode of promotion – Every social media includes paid promotion and unpaid/organic promotion options. If you have enough capital to spend on the paid promotion, you must go for it. Paid promotions directly reach your target audience and they do not demand much money. They are much like T.V. adverts which we see between shows. Organic promotion is good and will work only if you show consistency and give value through your content to the audience. Organic promotion requires time and effort but it is long-lasting. One good tip to grow the reach of your organic promotion is to add hashtags in every post and video that you upload. Make sure to keep them relevant to your brand and product.

5. Call to action – This is the final result that you want from any customer. Do not forget to ask your audience to take a certain action. It can be as small as following your page or directly asking them to buy your product. There are other options too, you can ask for sighing up for your newsletter or ask them to share the informative posts that you had created. Remember that people will not act if you don’t remind them to.
