Rick Sanchez first arrived in Fortnite in Chapter 2: Season 7. That was two months ago, and now, the iconic duos are finally together! You heard that right, Rick and Morty are now both available in the Fortnite Item Shop for players to get! We’ll admit that it was kind of weird when Fortnite announced that Rick Sanchez will be making an appearance but without his trusty grandson in tow. After all, the name of the hit show is Rick and Morty, not just Rick. It was assumed that the reason why Morty wasn’t able to make it to the battle royale is just to his size – simply put, Morty was too small of a char acter. Luckily, Epic managed to alleviate the problem by adding a little something to Morty in Fortnite. An Accessory at First, A Skin Now

During the launch of Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 7, fans of “Rick and Morty” were happy to hear the news of the titular drunk scientist was joining the infamous battle royale as part of the seasonal battle pass. As for the young Morty, however, players had to settle using a hammer-headed version of him that came from an alternate dimension as a pickaxe. It wasn’t necessarily what the players wanted at that time – they wanted the full-on Rick and Morty skins in the Fortnite Item Shop. Fast forward a few months after that, they finally got what they wanted. Mecha Morty gets to join Rick Sanchez in Fortnite! Instead of the usual Morty that people see in the show, he’s instead fully decked out with a Snuffles-like mech suit.

The bipedal suit, while similar to the one that Snuffles wears during the first season where Rick gives the canine’s suit an IQ-boosting helmet that turns the cute pup into a revenge-seeking threat to all of humanity, isn’t the same as the one that Morty is wearing in Fortnite. Sure, Morty can have another set of arms and legs thanks to it (and a comfy, throne-like chair to boot), but there’s no IQ-boosting mechanism in it. At the very least, this doesn’t turn Morty into a warfreak that wants to annihilate everything that it sees.

Other Cool Stuff

Mecha Morty is now available alongside Rick Sanchez who is currently a redeemable skin in Chapter 2: Season 7 Battle Pass. Morty will be having the same cel-shaded look filter that Rick has which at least keeps things consistent. If players want to take it to the next level, they have the option to add in Morty’s Backpack Back Bling that has a hidden Mr. Meeseeks box. There’s also the tame astronaut Space Snake pickaxe for those who were fans of the ‘Rattlestar Ricklactica’ episode.

The Mecha Morty skin also comes with a Look At Me! gun wrap where there will be a Mr. Meeseeks popping up on the weapon every time a player manages to get a kill. And finally, to tie the duo together, Rick and Morty can be used together to recreate the ‘Get Schwifty’ song with the emotes. Although the Fortnite Battle Royale version is highly censored, the original isn’t exactly one that one would show to their seven-year-old nephew and possibly traumatize their childhood.

How to Get Mecha Morty

Getting Mecha Morty is pretty easy. All players have to do is to purchase the skin in the Fortnite Item Shop. The skin itself costs 1,500 V-Bucks, while the bundle together with all of the extra items including Morty’s Backpack and Space Snack pickaxe comes in at 2,200 V-Bucks. The price is a tad steep, but since Mecha Morty is a Legendary skin, the price tag is more or less justified. As for the Rick Sanches skin, players will have to get the current Battle Pass available if they want to complete the duo. Just like yin and yang, you can’t have one without the other – although it’s a preference as to whether folks want just one of the skins or get both of them.
