He has done detailed research in areas including clinical immunosuppression, ABO Incompatible transplantation, Paired exchange donation, steroid free immunosuppression, cost-containment, acute kidney injury and many more. Dr. Vijay Kher is frequently invited as a visiting faculty by several esteemed institutions nationally and internationally. He has also been a part of many scientific forums where he delivered more than 350 orations and lectures. He has served as an inspector for DNB and DM recognition for National Board of Examination and Medical Council of India.

He has hugely contributed in setting up high-volume Nephrology departments in many major hospitals of North India.

He has made several contributions to the Indian Nephrology Department, for which he also received an award for his involvement in research about Immunosuppression in Kidney transplantation.

He has delivered more than 350 orations and lectures at many prestigious scientific forums.

He has published more than 180 research articles in peer reviewed journals, written and edited 11 books.

Educational Qualification 

Medical School – Dr. Vijay Kher completed MBBS from Glancy Medical College, Amritsar in 1973

Postgraduate Programmes – He further did specialization in General Medicine from PGIMER Chandigarh in 1977.

Dr. Kher also did DM in Nephrology from PGIMER Chandigarh in 1979.

DNB in Nephrology from National Boards India in 1980

Fellowships 

Research Fellowship Hypertension from Henry Ford Hospital in 1981.
