There is little doubt that everything has changed because of Covid short term rentals can be included in this. This is an industry which has had to evolve or face the risk of extinction because of course, there are many who will struggle if they are not able to secure people coming to stay in their properties. Of course during the lockdown this was a no-go, since then however, as things have opened back up again, we have seen a stark change in the way in which companies like this have gone about their business.

These are just some of the changes which this industry in particular has sought to address.

Transparency

Everyone is worried about what has been going on and this is why the companies which are offering short term rental shave had to make sure that they are being completely transparent with those who are coming. There is a solid element of trust here, and this is reinforced thanks to notices on websites that the company will ensure all efforts are made to provide the safest possible place.

Cleaning

Cleaning has not only had to change with regards to how often it is completed, but also with regards to the level by which it is done. A simple sweep and mop will no longer cut it and short term rental companies must absolutely ensure a fully cleaned and disinfected area. This of course comes at extra cost to the short term rental company, but this is a necessity because if they don’t stay clean they won’t bring in customers.

Staff Training

These companies have also had to retrain their staff with regards to the new guidelines. Those who are showing clients and customers new properties have to do so with maximum confidence and that means that they need to know everything that their business is doing with regards to the current situation. In order for them to be this confident they have had to be trained under the new guidelines which are in place.

Public Spaces

Many short term rental properties are situated in and around residential areas and there has also been a requirement on behalf of these companies to speak with residents and to fall under the new guidelines which have been put in place. This means reaching out to community groups and to housing associations to ensure that the property rental is able to tell its tenants how to behave during their stay. This relationship has been more important than ever before.

As you can see, these companies have had to take steps in order to give confidence to those who are looking to stay in the property. These companies have also had to make sweeping changes in terms of cleanliness to make sure that those staying in the property are absolutely looked after and given the highest level of hygiene.

All of this has had to be done in order for these businesses to survive.
