Aftermath the Sushant Singh Rajputā€™s suicide, the heated debate on toxic ā€˜Nepotism in Bollywoodā€™ has again brought back in the spotlight! Thereā€™s no denying that the Bollywood industry becomes a factory for crushing real talent by introducing underwhelming talents of ā€˜Star kidsā€™ like Ananya Panday in the film ā€˜Student of the Year 2ā€™ which was directed and produced by Karan Johar! However, on this, you can recall as many examples as you can such as Varun Dhawan, Sara Ali Khan, Jhanvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khattar, Ahaan Shetty, Sooraj Pancholi, Parineeti Chopra, Aryan Khan, Aadar Jain, Suhana Khan, and the list of ā€˜Privilege Star Kidsā€™ goes on. Out of them, few already got the big debuts, few are getting big debuts and for rest, Karan Johar (he himself said) is already planning about their big debuts.

So, definitely ā€˜Nepotismā€™ is deeply rooted in the industry and crushing the real talent! To support this, here in this blog weā€™ve listed some of those versatile actors and actresses who donā€™t get the deserved limelight in the Bollywood Industry despite having excellent acting skills and talent. Have a lookā€”

  • Manoj Bajpayee– He is one of the finest exponents of the method acting in the Bollywood film industry
  • Jimmy Shergill– He has a unique style of acting, and is gifted with the ability to play any role with simplicity
  • Shreyas Talpade– He is best known for his excellent acting in several critically and commercially successful films.
  • Sharman Joshi– He is a versatile actor who not only acted in Bollywood films but also worked in various stage productions in different languages.
  • Radhika Apte– She is an all-rounder but best known for her unconventional roles
  • Mahie Gill– She is one of the best indie actresses of the Bollywood industry.
  • Konkana Sen– She is the one who is the face of the art-house cinema.

Along with that, weā€™ve also listed those artists that have proved that whatever the circumstances may take place, the ā€˜Talentā€™ never goes waste. Have a lookā€”

  • Amitabh Bachchan– He had to spend his many nights on a bench in Mumbai during his struggling days and also faced rejection from 2 radio stations.
  • Shahrukh Khan– He worked as a concert attendant, and even sold tickets at the Mumbai Theater.
  • Akshay Kumar– He used to work as a waiter and chef to survive; also he even sold jewelry to earn a living.
  • Kangana Ranaut– She left her family and without any kind of financial aid from her family, she struggled a lot to reach where she is today!
  • Nawazuddin Siddiqui– He came from a farming background and worked as a chemist and watchman also.
  • Johny Lever– He had to quit his education after 7th standard and used to sell pens on the street.
  • Boman Irani: He worked as a waiter and used to sell wafers at his motherā€™s bakery.

So, the debate of talent V/S privilege has been a contentious one, and it will remain just a topic of debate if the fraternity and those who are facing consequences of ā€˜Bollywood Nepotismā€™ donā€™t stand up for what is right and what is wrong!

But, to end this, all I can say is ā€œNepotismā€ which plays along with ā€˜Favoritismā€™ is a disease that plagues not alone in the film industry; itā€™s equally prominent in all other professions. However, only the stars come under the scanner for the fact that weā€™re only able to witness the toxic nepotism in the Bollywood industry in front of us and unfortunately not others.
