There are always new ways and techniques for hair colouring. As we experiment with different hair products and hairstyles now and then, we tend to inflict damage on our hair. Over-styling, overheating or overdoing your hair can lead to brittle and rough hair.
Our hair strands are divided into three parts. The innermost layer is called the medulla, while the middle layer and the outer layers are called cortex and cuticle, respectively. The outermost layer a.k.a shields your hair from everyday damage. When this layer is damaged, the hair becomes rough and lifeless. But there are ways to reverse the damage and bring your hair back to its natural state. Here’s how:
Use your styling tools at a lower temperature
While your flat iron, curling iron, and blow dryer lets you transform messy hair into luscious mane, they do so by subjecting your hair to extreme heat, which can cause dryness and roughness. The next time you try heat to manage your hair, make sure the temperature is lower than what you usually set. Unless you have very coarse and thick hair, lower temperatures work just as good in styling.
Use the right shampoo
Make sure the shampoo that you are using does not contain parabens or other harmful ingredients. Shop for a shampoo that consists of natural ingredients such as Amla, Shikakai, Brahmi, Jyotishmati, aloe vera, and Vitamin E, as these ingredients help in speedy damage recovery.
Moreover, do not shampoo your hair often and use cold water to wash your hair.
Trim your split ends
Split ends are the cause of breakage and dullness of hair. Hence you should trim them away as they pop up. In order to avoid split ends from coming back, use nourishing shampoo, leave-in conditioner and hair masks. If you are unable to manage your split ends, visit your strathpine hairdresser and have them remove it. Trimming does not necessarily reduce the length of your hair. Make sure you consult with the best hair stylist to get rid of the split ends and not to shorten the length.
Wet hair needs extra care
Whether you have thick or thin hair, it is most vulnerable and prone to breakage when it is wet. The breakage is most likely when your hair is fragile and/or curly. Therefore, such types of hair need to be handled with extra care. Avoid brushing too hard when your hair is wet and use a wide-toothed comb to style it. Make sure you are not vigorously rubbing your hair after you get out of the shower. Moreover, do not tie your hair too tight while it is wet.
Use healing hair mask
Hair masks play a vital role in the reinvigoration of your hair. Having a high concentration of moisturizing elements such as Vitamins, essential oil, and natural components, they help the hair follicles in regrowing the damaged cells. Since hair masks are thicker in comparison to any shampoo or conditioner, it can be applied on damp hair and can penetrate the hair surface to moisturize and restore your natural hair. Find a mask that is suitable for you and use it at least two times in a week to see the results.

Just like any other hair care product, there is a suitable conditioner for every type of hair.
