Next, think about why this person needs your product or service. What benefit will it give them, or what problem will it solve? This will help you understand which emotions to play on.

By taking the time to learn about your audience, you can create web copy that speaks to their hearts. If your audience feels understood, they are far more likely to subscribe to what you’re offering.

2. Keep It Simple

The average attention span of a human has decreased to a mere 8 seconds. Yes, just 8 seconds. That’s less than a goldfish!

This means you have to capture the interest of your customer as fast as you can before–SQUIRREL!

To hold a reader’s attention, you need to make your content easy to digest. Keep your sentences short, around 10 words long. Paragraphs should be no longer than 3-4 sentences.

Your content should focus on one main idea, introduced by a compelling headline. Avoid jargon and buzz words. Cut down on adjectives and adverbs, they just add fluff.

3. Keyword Research

Google uses the keywords in your article to determine your webpage’s rank in their search results. The higher you rank, the more visitors will visit your page.

Use keywording tools to research the most in-demand keywords. Based on your research, pick 1 or 2 main keywords to insert into your web copy. 

Be careful not to overuse your keywords. Google may misinterpret this as spam and shadowban your content.

5. Include a Call to Action

Your copywriting has served no purpose if it doesn’t inspire the customer to do something.

Well written web copy hypes the customer up and piques their interest in your product. A call to action funnels this energy into a response from the customer.
